Local Feel Good Living: Cathi Burke, Heart of Reiki Center

Today’s local feel good living highlight is with the Reverend Cathi Burke, co-owner of the Heart of Reiki/Heavenly Messenger Center in Hanover, MA.

I met Cathi through a networking referral and we instantly hit it off. I had the pleasure of interviewing her about one of her many skills , EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique.  EFT is a healing method that involves tapping various points on the body.  During our conversation Cathi teaches us (yes, there is practice involved!) tapping points to help manage fear, anxiety, stress, build confidence and even curb food cravings!  The interview runs about 20 minutes long, but in a lot of it you actually get to practice tapping.  If you’ve never heard of EFT or if you have and are curious, this segment may help answer some questions. I hope you check it out.

    Stacey,
Very well explained! I tried EFT once, about a year or two ago. At the time, I really didn’t connect with this method of healing. Along those lines, though, I also have noticed quite a personal shift in that time as to the energy we have in our bodies, and what is really possible. And going back to the start – this whole process is really done so well here – Cathi does a great job of showing this in a simple and easy to do manner.

    Hi Stacey

It is great that you are sharing this and exposing more people to it. I have heard of EFT a while back , and than was fortunate to get the DVD/book “Try it on Everything” – it is instructional material on tapping, and follows the stories of a few people with various “problems” – physical or emotional, etc… who go through the tapping program with great success.

I so highly recommend this healing modality as it is completely natural and can literally address everything!

  3. Hi Lance – Thank you! I think everything in it’s time. That’s why I’m excited to introduce people to these options!

Evita – I agree – it’s completely natural and while admittedly, I haven’t used it enough to know whether it works or not, I do believe in it’s power.

  4. Like Lance I’ve tried EFT and haven’t connected with it either. What I did like about it was the concept of looking for the positive. I’m a big fan of positive psychology. The more we use methods like EFT the happier we can become.

I really liked how detailed her explanations were. I could see that she really knew her information inside and out.

I love using EFT and have tremendous success with it. I didn’t feel like I connected with the method initially but when I decided to put in time and adopt an open attitude, I found that I gained tremendously. It’s great that you and Cathi are helping to bring more awareness to a method that has already garnered thousands of testimonials worldwide. I believe that a lot more people can benefit from knowing how to apply it. Great work here!

  6. Hi Karl – Funny how so many tried it but didn’t connect! I do love the essence of it, too. Maybe I will try it again…I just love my yoga so much!

Hi Evelyn Lim – I agree – there are so many natural tools out there to heal us, one of my goals is to bring these tools into the awareness of more people. Thanks for stopping by!
