Good question. For me the ultimate in feeling good comes when I am in the throes of authentic aliveness. There is a vibrancy, focus and awareness that is very much a flow experience at these times. My mission is to experience more of them.

Hi Belinda - Thanks for stopping by. I remember when I first learned about my choices - a very freeing moment to say the least. Thank you for sharing your story and hope to see you back here!

Tess - I love it...feeling alive. So many sleep walk through life, missing out. I know you are not one of those people, which is what I enjoy about reading your blog!

Walter - I couldn't agree more - the anxiety and worry will wreak havoc. If we can learn to be present more often, then more calm and "feel-good" will become part of our lives. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Karl - It's like you wrote my copy for me. I love that you wrote food, because not many people respond that way. Food is a critical part and a big part of my definition.

Great question. Feel good living means so many things.

It means freedom of mind. Allowing myself to just relax in whatever moment I am in and enjoying the heck out of it.

It means good food. I'm talking about the kind of food that is healthy and gives me great energy.

It means being with friends. I love spending time with friends at home and out to eat. A good friend has a way of making the world feel so very right.

Feel-good living is a state we can summon on our being. We just need to let go of all our worries and anxiety, open our eyes to the very moment and appreciate all the blessing that we enjoy. Though this is not an easy task, it is the only way to gain the feel good experience. :-)

Hi Stacey,
Feel good living to me is feeling alive, healthy and calm. FGL is doing my best and being of service to others. Most importantly it's having and maintaining loving relationships with others. Without those nothing else is very meaningful for me.

Hi Stacey,
I clicked over from Davina's blog. I really like posts that ask questions and like your particular question.
For me, it's "choosing positivity". I learned this when I first became a mom. I gave birth and for the first few days/weeks, I didn't feel that bliss that I craved. Long story short, I made tweaks in my attitude and here I am, reveling in the fact that I have choices (some people don't have so many) and can, at any time, choose positivity.
Thanks!

Leanna - I love how you mentioned the clean kitchen. I do not feel good when I come down in the morning to make coffee and find a mess. Only my fault, but nonetheless, good tip.

Lance - Great breakdown, and almost an exact match to what I believe feel-good living to be (actually everyone is right on target!) How was that run?

Megan - Sometimes I think we must be related...I know you've had a year to really contemplate what this is for you. Thanks for sharing here.

Peggy - Effort vs Ease - Thanks for sharing that, it's something I often bring up in my yoga classes. And so key is remembering to pause.

Jodi - I love how you define harmony. It really is that, more than "balance" at least in my opinion - getting just enough of everything to feel good. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Stacey,
This is a great idea!

My definition of 'feel-good living' is one where everything is in harmony. I've moved around and taken in fresh air and the beauty of nature; my kids are happy and balancing the responsibility of schoolwork and play; my house is neat; I'm learning new things and keeping my mind active; I'm connected with spirit; and I'm connected to good friends and family.

I'm looking forward to your post on the subject!!

Hi Stacey,

Feel good living means to me, finding the balance between effort and ease. Between doing and not doing. Between activity and rest.

It's about pacing myself and not rushing through everything.

It's accepting what is so, letting go of the things not in my control (nearly everything!), being more present.

It's also about pausing - just pressing pause in a difficult situation can help me stop reacting from a place in my past or some future imagination I've conjured up in my head.
The pause brings more presence to the moment I'm experiencing.

Great idea!
To answer your questions, I experience “feel-good living” by following what my heart tells me is right. I try to get out of my brain (which means meditation as often as necessary) and check in with my heart chakra. I've grown more attuned to the finer aspects of feeling my way to feel good living (!!), and most of that comes from doing things that involve LOVE. I ask myself, "What would I LOVE right now?" Or "How can I express LOVE in this situation?"

Feel-good living, to me, involves balance: doing what feels (there's that operative word again!) ought to be done, but in a good & balanced way. So while I know I ought to exercise, I no longer push myself beyond the limits my body can take. I stay balanced with it. Same goes for how I earn money, how I extend myself to others, how much I rest and how much I play, etc. Balance is key for me.
