For those of you who are regular readers, you will notice a difference to the site. For those who are new, welcome! And let me explain. As I worked on my website Sunday morning something went wrong. With the click of a button my website disappeared. Three years of posts and content that can only be restored through manual cut and paste. Just a little stress inducing.
If you’re not convinced about the power of thought, the power of intention or the old saying, “Be careful what you wish for,” I ask you to think again. Earlier this week I told a colleague I wish I could blow up this site and start all over again.
And although this isn’t exactly what I had in mind, today my wish came true.
It’s not the end of the world. After getting over my initial upset, I realized this is a blessing. I wanted to make changes for a while. Yes, it will take time. Yes, it’s a nuisance. A little yoga allowed me to return to calm and create an appropriate plan while still enjoying my Sunday (despite the Patriots loss). Things like this happen all the time. We expect one thing and get something entirely different. How we respond makes all the difference in the final outcome. Instead of being upset with the situation, I’m excited for the future of the site!
The next time you encounter a situation that doesn’t go as planned, check in with your response. It will have more of an impact on your final outcome than the situation itself.
As I put the pieces together I ask for your patience during the “reconstruction”. In the meantime, you can still reach me by phone at 617.548.5877 or email .

Hi Stacey – Sorry to hear of the blog troubles. I’ve been in the same place before and you know what — you are right, sometimes it’s better to start from scratch. Just remember to take your time and get it the way you want. We can wait for you!
Diane
Stacey,
This reminds me of a Robert Frost quote – “In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life – it goes on.” Life is going on. And I’m here thinking about you, and how I might respond. And I think you’re handling this marvelously.
Wow, what a story about the Law of Attraction! Careful what you wish for! The new site looks great though… and good for you for keeping it up. I’d definitely be devastated (and frustrated!) if that had happened to me.
Talk about taking a unpleasant situation and turning it into something positive! You’re such an inspiration Stacey, as you saw this as not only a learning experience, but a way to grow and make things better. Amazing how the saying that it’s not what happens to you that matters, but how you RESPOND to it…and you’re doing it wonderfully.
I love Lance’s … Life goes on and would like to add to it by saying “All Is Well.”
Your a strong person and a new beginning is a like a breath of fresh air. Let me know if you need anything!
Losing your website can be a very stressful problem. It sounds like you are taking it all in stride. I would probably be gnashing against the Gods, but that’s just me.
But after a good tantrum, the calm comes back and I would probably realize that it’s an opportunity to take the site in the direction that I really want it to go in. I can’t wait to see what will come. I’m excited.
To all of you – Thank you for your support! I’m looking forward to the final creation. I know it will be exactly as it’s supposed to be. It’s good to be surrounded by people who can help, too.
Hi Stacey! Oh my goodness! What a story! I read the comment you made to your friend about how you wished you could blow up the site and I laughed out loud. Boy oh boy did the universe hear you loud and clear! Good for you for turning it around and being grateful (thank goodness for yoga!). Your new website looks awesome. I am excited for the changes! Best of luck with your new, clean slate!
Hi Stacey,
I wandered over from Tess’ blog, The Bold Life, and much to my happy surprise, we’re practically neighbors…or at least we’re both disappointed with the Patriots loss to the Jets on Sunday (oy…what a game)
Anyway, I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your website and content but what a way to create CHANGE
I look forward to reading more and seeing your new creation!
Peggy
I can so relate to “careful what you wish for.” I’ve seen it countless times in my own life, as well as those of my friends. I had one friend with her own nail business who wanted to do catering, instead. She kept lamenting her nail business, saying how she didn’t want to do it anymore, etc. In no time, she started losing clients right and left — some moved, some got sick, what-have-you. She panicked! I told her I thought she manifested it, and boy was she upset when she realized that.
I’m glad you were able to put a positive spin on your situation and see the silver lining around that oh-so-gray cloud of technological hiccups.
By the way, I like how the new site looks! It’s really warm and clean.
Wow Stacey, that is a test of how one would react to “stress” indeed and talk about the power of manifestations….
But I am glad to hear all is well! The web site looks wonderful and as I always say, nothing bad ever happens that doesn’t work out for a greater good!
Wow, what an awful thing to happen.
But I’m glad you are looking at the positive side of things and starting clean. I bet this time around you will find a way to do regular backups as well.
Best of luck to you!
Dayne
Diane – Thank you! Patience is the key here…what’s that?!?!
Lance – Thank you my friend, your support means a lot.
Positively Present – thank you…yes, I experienced a lot of emotions, but at the end of the day…a deep breath helped more!
Dinneen – Thank you! It’s taken a lot of years to get to this point. thank goodness…it’s much better than the old days.
Tess – thank you, I will definitely reach out!
Karl – Thanks, I’m excited, too!
Jodi – I know, when I remembered that conversation I nearly fell over in my own chair. We have great powers!
Hi Peggy – Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment!..and hoping for a better Pats game next go around!
Megan – Thank you. It’s amazing isn’t it…technical hiccups to say the least…today my new iphone battery died, luckily they replaced the whole phone!
Evita – Thank you…I’m excited for the greater good. It’s times like this that make the good even sweeter.
Dayne – Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Back ups, ah, yes, lesson learned!
You probably already checked but unless you are hosting on a machine in your house your hosting provider probably has backups maybe a week or a month old.
If you ask them they can probably roll you back up to that point.
When we experience things that was never planned we get distressed. I’m glad you’ve seen things differently, you have found an opportunity to make things better, for you and for this site.
Jared – Yes, there were some issues with backing up that way. I do have the material, but will require cut and paste.
Walter – Thanks for stopping by. I have learned there is no other way! Can’t control the situation, but the reaction, yes.
Kudos to you for seeing the bright side of things. I’ve learned that every problem offers an opportunity if we have the wherewithal to setp back and look for it. Of course, I’m no master, but I’m getting better (I think.) I had lots of opportunities (and a number of web site malfunctions) to practice
Jason, Thanks for your comment. I agree every problem does offer opportunities – to learn about the issue at hand and ourselves! Good to have you here.
