P90X - Week 8 and 9

It’s been a couple of weeks since I posted about P90X. It’s still going - week 8 was a rest week and I definitely rested. At least from anything that had to do with P90X. I’m at a point in my life and my workouts where I just don’t want that kind of intensity anymore. So I took a “rest” my way. I ran, did some light weights on my own and of course some yoga. I really enjoyed that week!

I did notice that when I did the weights on my own (non-P90X exercises) I was a lot stronger doing them than I was when I started P90X. I mentioned that in the last post about P90X and I’ll say it again, I guess it works!

Week 9 - Week 1 of phase 3. I can’t believe we’ve been doing this for 60+ days already. This week, though, we decided not to use the videos for the strength workouts and instead followed the exercises by using the book. That worked out really well. There were a couple of exercises that I couldn’t remember and I improvised. No big deal. I still got a great workout, my arms felt like jelly and I moved through the exercises a lot faster since I didn’t have to listen to Tony’s comments in between. The book tells you when to take a stretch/water break and I did that, too.

This week, week 10, we are away on vacation. I brought a tube, but forgot the book. So while I plan to exercise, I sense that week 10 will happen once we’re back at home.

  2. Sounds like you are doing really well. I like reading your blog about P90X. It definitely does work and is a very hard system. I liked how you said, “…and I’ll say it again, I guess it works!” Of course p90x works!
